Amazon.com Product Description Samsung's 27-inch TX-P2734 is a full-featured direct-view CRT TV with a DynaFlat antidistortion, antiglare dark-tint picture tube makes watching for high picture contrast and minimal reflection. The TX-P2734 has a 4:3 aspect ratio, good for viewing analog broadcast TV and pan-and-scan-formatted video at a resolution of 480i (interlaced). Four video presets optimize the picture for the type of program being watched with user-adjustable brightness, contrast, sharpness, color, and tint. Plus, screen-filling picture modes let you fit the image to your screen. A 4H digital comb filter analyses multiple lines of picture information to minimize edge image artifacts and improve transition detail, producing a superior picture. The Invar shadow mask removes picture discoloration (doming) caused by heat and allows the tube to operate at a higher voltage, yielding brighter whites, higher contrast, and purer colors. Color temperature controls allow you to adjust white balance. The "Warm" setting reduces the color temperature and delivers a redder image that is ideal for display in a dimly lit room. "Normal" and "Cool" provide a progressively bluer image for the best picture as room light levels are increased. Get sharper edges and outlines with velocity scan modulation that controls the speed of transitions between the black and white portions of the signal. Auto Kine Aging Bias automatically regulates the white balance to maintain consistent, optimal performance even after many years of use. A White Peak Limiter and Dynamic Black Level Expander further improve picture contrast. To get an even cleaner picture, the TX-P2734 has a digital video noise reduction system to remove digital artifacts from images. The TX-P2734's speaker design uses side-mounted, front-firing speakers to deliver the most stereo sound reproduction available from a television's internal speaker system. Aside from the 7-watt-per-channel stereo speaker system, the set has MTS for receiving stereo sound and SAP for receiving a second audio track in another language. Auto volume leveling eliminates drastic volume spikes while changing channels or when channels go to a commercial break. The improved Turbo Sound loudness control boosts high and low audio frequencies, while sound enhancement modes create more realistic audio environments for movies, music, and speech. A simulated surround sound mode is also available. A side S-video and set of composite inputs present a clean-looking front cabinet and make hooking up a game console or camcorder a snap. Two rear composite inputs, an S-video input, and a DVD component input make connecting your audio/visual equipment easy. Component-video inputs split the video signal into its base components--Y (the black and white part of the picture), Pr (red minus Y), and Pb (blue minus Y). The signal remains pure and unaffected by the TV's comb filter or NTSC decoder. The result is higher resolution and improved color purity. A fixed A/V output is on the rear of the set as well. Many convenience features have been incorporated into the TX-P2734's design. A full-function remote control gives you access to the tri-lingual (English, Spanish, French) on-screen display, sleep timer, noise muting, and channel return as well as basics like channel changing, volume, and picture and audio adjustments. There is also a V-chip control system to easily limit the types of programs your children are watching and a Remote Surf feature that returns the TV to the original channel so other channels can be browsed during commercial breaks. What's in the Box TX-P2734 27-inch CRT TV, remote control with batteries, warranty, and user's manual.

Samsung TX-P2734
I was watching the tv, it beeped three (3) times and will not power back up.
I should have bought what my son purchased, a Philips tv.
This is, by far, the worse piece of electronics that I have ever purchased.
I have electronics that I have owned for over 25 years that still work as good today as they did when I first purchased them.
I will NEVER, let me stress again, NEVER, buy ANYTHING made by SAMSUNG.
Junk, pure and simple!
Don't buy this TV!! December 21, 2006 E. B. Cooper-owens (Los Angeles, CA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought this 27 inch dynaflat Samsung in June of 2005. I had been impressed by the picture quality and the perceived value for a relatively low price. Well, as they say, "you get what you pay for." This TV just stopped working. It will not turn on. This TV is no more! It has ceased to be! It's expired and gone to meet its maker! It's a stiff! Bereft of life, it rests in peace! Its metabolic processes are now history! It's off the twig! It's kicked the bucket, it's shuffled off its mortal coil, run down the curtain and joined the bleedin' choir invisibile!! THIS IS AN EX-TV!!
Samsung informed me that the warranty is up and that all I can do is pay to have it serviced. I've checked around the net and found that other people have had the exact same problem with this model. It just quits working after about a year. WTF!!?? I have a 20 inch Sony Trinitron that I bought in 1994. It has been dropped, knocked over, kicked and had things spilled on it. It still works beautifully. Its really a shame that my 12 year old Sony is built so much better than my 1 year old Samsung. Avoid this TV at all costs!
Bad quality TV will never buy from Samsung again May 15, 2006 Haiyan Chen (VA USA) 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
I purchased this 27" TV with model number TXP2734X/XAA and S/N 38143CCY100373C from Circuit City on Mar 03, 2005 and two weeks ago it is officially dead. It can not simply be turned on. When I used the remote or directly press the power button on the TV, the LED light near "Timer" is flashing green, but the screen simply did not light up. There was not physical damage, thunder shock, electric spikes or anything like that because all our other electronic devices are working alright.
I called Samsung customer service and they told me it is out of warranty, so I am out of luck. Have anyone see a TV only last slightly more than 1 year? I have used my other old TV for 20 years now without any problem. Two of my friends purchased other 27" TV brands longer than I did at a much cheaper price and they are still enjoying it while I have a fancy looking piece of junk sitting at home?
I will try to go to the repair shop and see how much it is gonna cost to repair it. Anyway, I promise I will never buy any Samsung product in the rest of my and my wife's life.
